Dinner @ Sichuan Douhua Chinese Restaurant - UOB Plaza

Company dinner (yes I know, we have a lot of dinners, all the time) on the 20th Feb was at Sichuan Douhua Restaurant @ UOB Plaza. The only thing unique I noticed was that the waiters served tea from a brass tea pot with brass tea pot with ultra long spout.
To be very honest, I wasn't really looking forward to that particular dinner. Perhaps too much eating over the festive period, so fancy restaurants at that point in time didn't really excite me. Novelty lost after having the luxury of almost having seafood 3 meals a day!

No, I'm not complaining. I do enjoy eating very much. Just that, I really need to watch my figure. Sigh, CNY and the load of pineapple tarts, love letters, BBQ pork, Yu Sheng and etc etc etc... Whatever else goodies you can think of during CNY, I had been feeding myself un-sparingly!

But the group dinner was still fun to have, as always. Nice wines to compliment the food. This time, we just stuck to dinner. I didn't go anywhere after that. Simply headed home and slept. Some pics...

Of horses and colourful playground @ Pasir Ris Park

Just wanted a walk to pacify a tantrum-throwing Prince A. So I suggested we swing by Pasir Ris Park. Fairly interesting to see a miniature horse stable there.

Perhaps it's been a long time since I went to this part of the park. But this trip was just very fun. See, horses, and a ponies too.

Pretty White Horse

I'm not sure why, but this pony looks "warped"!

See, there are ponies too. Hmm... Perhaps it was chow-time when I went there. All the horses and ponies were very busy eating.

This is is very cute. The colour combination, makes it look like a cow! Hahahaha.... So cute.

Further down, some 5 mins away from the horses, was the old playground I know. Used to go there ever so often when I was a kid. One of my aunties used to bring me and my brother and a cousin there. And I'd always climb up the pyramid wed and just sit high up on the top of the pyramid and stare out at the sea. The mild sea breeze would always calm my nerves and clear my mind.

However, it's been quite a while since I last came to this part of the park and there had been many many changes. An extension of the playground had been built. More slides for younger kids and lots of new age playground equipment had been installed.

In my kiddie days, the playground meant lots of sand, the slide, the swing, and the see-saw. Now-a-days, everything is super colourful. You'll see things like that...

Interesting now innovation had made life better. Children these days don't know how lucky they are.

Dinner at Vino Vino

Last month on the 25th, we went to another very chic place for dinner. This was Vino Vino along Mohd Sultan Road. The ambience was not too bad, and the food was great. And very very expensive too I think. I didn't pay for it (come to think of it, I seldom had to pay for what I ate!!! Hahaha...)

We had a group of 11 people, and they put us in a corner. I found that a wee bit too squeezy for comfort though. Good thing Tweetie made them remove the partition they had up so that it didn't look like we were hidden right at the back of the restaurant.

That's the menu, and I had the NY Porterhouse Steak (400g!)

Anti-Pasto Platter

Prawn Cocktail Salad

NY Cut Porterhouse Steak

Me & the gigantic portion of steak

Brownie & Vanilla Ice Cream

The red wine they served with the Main Course

A very seductive looking Tweetie!

Michelle is just so cute!

Michelle can't drink, but she's always pictured holding glasses of wine & cocktails... I wonder why... Hmmm...

No idea how come Tweetie looks intoxicated here

The 3 Stooges

After dinner, we crossed the street into one of those pubs. I can't remember what the name of that place was (or rather didn't bother to remember!) It was almost deserted and I was wondering why we even bothered to go catch a drink there. But anyway, Charlie ordered a round of Lychee cocktail thingy for all of us. It was really very very strong. I didn't manage to finish that one.

Tweetie & me

Everyone else was quite exhausted by then, but Charlie, Tweetie, Michelle & me went on to KBox, and sang out hearts out to let some steam out... Unfortunately no pics of us crooning away at this point...

Disgusting Sunday lunch

Since it was meant to be a lazy Sunday, we decided to just hop over to Ikea for lunch. Late lunch to be exact. So since there wasn't much of a crowd, we found nice seats at a round table near the windows (window seats, hehehe). It was nice to sit and eat in the sun without perspiring...

As I was enjoying my meatballs & cream of asparagus when this kid, this plump little girl, who's parents were seated at the table behind me, came running by. And guess what she was doing? As she ran towards her parents, she was spraying her saliva all over. Needless to say, her saliva was all over my hand and clothes! Ya, all over me. It was freaking groooossssssss! And you know what? Her parents just kept rooted in their seats even though they knew their daughter's saliva was all over me. All they said to her was "you see... your saliva all over people already..." And that's it!!! They saw me desperately wiping off those gross droplets, but yet they didn't even bother to apologise!

Geez.... I swear I would've walked over and slapped the daylights out of the father and mother. I seriously wanted to do that. The only thing was, I didn't wanna risk hurting & dirtying my hands further. Can't believe that manz! I mean, I can get angry with the kid. But I can't scold her. Children get playful and do all sorts of things rather innocently at times. But it's the bloody parents I'm angry with. They should've set a good example and apologise at the very least on behalf of their daughter lor. But they didn't lor... Can't believe such parents exist. Maybe they came down from some mountain! Damn... Just my luck...

Peaceful Lunar New Year

A fairly peaceful Chinese New Year this time. Had to help the dowager prepare renunion dinner. Lots of washing and cutting. Only the 2 of us in the kitchen. The was of course another female in the house, but apparently she never bothered to offer any help... She was probably too haughty. I suspect her fingers might rot upon contact with water! Sigh... I am always the only one willing to lend a hand in the preparations and cleaning. And every year, I am assisgned the task of shredding the radish and carrots. It seems that I'm so patient, and I make very nice long shreds! Therefore, this year is no exception. So Princess Carol's Abalone Yu Sheng was served pre-dinner.

Oh, forgot to mention that there were 2 "worms" that managed to crawl out just as we lifted our chopsticks and stationed ourselves strategically to "Lo Hei"... (-_-)

Anyway, I have been suffering from a very bad allergy problem. Seafood overdosage... Yeah, you read this right, seafood overdosage. I have been leading a fantastically good life. Eating abalone and shark's fin and crabs and prawns and bamboo clams and geoduck and scallops and almost all the treasures of the sea pratically everyday. So as a punishment, I suffered from an outbreak of rash all over my hands... *** CRY***

Well, that has happened before, and will take some time to clear off, so I'm laying off seafood for now.

Didn't do much pictures this year. I was wither busy preparing food, or busy cleaning up, or even busier eating..... I think I must have put on like 3 kg already!!! Anyway, we spotted this cute cat, sleeping in a cosy box...

And I bought this super sweet blush... It's so pretty I doubt I can bear to use it!!!

恭喜发财!!!Happy New Year!!! GONG HEI FATT CHOY!!!

Finally had time to do my hair. Poor me have been working and rushing to the bones (Actually I put on weight because of excessive eating of pineapple tarts and cookies etc etc etc!).

Late yesterday evening, I went to see my stylist, Alan. I told him to do something simple and touch up color. And then I asked him how long it was going to take. His reply was “我要你陪我三个钟头。乖乖的坐在这里,三个钟头。哪里都不可以去!”

I looked like an alien! And that's Alan (in red) in the mirror reflection

So I sat there, for hours... And I meant HOURS! It wasn't 3 hours like he said. It was more than 4 hours!!! Hahaha... Poor me, and my butt! During that 4+ hours, I had rollers and steam and cream in my hair. At the end of it, I emerged with wild curls and red hair. Yes, RED! "Auspicious", he said. *** Fainted ***

But it was really relaxing to sit there and have so many people fuss over my hair. And the hair washes and massages really took the load off my head.

Thks Alan, for staying after hours just to fix my hair. I was the last customer for the day!

And to everyone reading my blog, I wish you all a very Happy, Healthy, Fruitful and Prosperous Lunar New Year!!! 恭喜发财!

我是谁?Who Am I???

Oh, my Chinese has improved! See I managed to blog in Chinese again, hehehe...
