Sawadeeka! Princess Carol is in Bangkok!

Yep! I am currently in the land of a thousand smiles. Will be here for 5 days till Sunday. Temperature here is a freaking 34 degrees celcius. HOT!

And well, I'm not sure if I have the time to go shopping... But still if anyone of you out there has tips on where to go, what to buy, pls drop me a line... I know someone has told me to go buy shoes (very cheap), and underwear (Triumph Bras....very very cheap)... clothes... fake designer stuff... and donuts! Anymore ideas? Hehehe....

OK, I'm starving, so I'm going out to have some nice dinner. Think I might skip the Tom Yam part since it's gonna be super spicy. But I'll try snap some pics and post later!

Will be right back!

2008 Norwegian Seafood Dinner

Woohoo... Was invited to this beautiful annual affair. The annual Norwegian Seafood Dinner. It was held at Swissotel The Stamford last Friday. A very grand, gala dinner.

More than 75 seafood courses featuring 20 different types of Norwegian fish and seafood were served to approx 800 guests (including me!). The Royal Norwegian Embassy and NBAS hosted the evening, while the Norwegian Seafood Export Council sponsored the seafood and the chefs. The Norwegian Ambassador H.E. Ms Janne Julsrud was present as well.

Without further ado, pls see below, mouth-watering, drool-worthy pics I managed while eating and talking at the same time...

KINGCRAB!!! And it's HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

White Halibut. Very yummy!

Baked Trout. Nicely presented

Boiled Crayfish

I was seated at table 37, 3rd row from the stage, next to the VIPs!

My 1st round. Too shy to pile up yet...

But after that, my second and third plates were just too much for the camera. Besides, the food was good, and I was too busy eating and chatting with the French guy next to me. Hahaha.... OK, he was the MD for at-sunrice. But he was telling us (me and some other ladies at our table) abt his stint at Ritz Carlton.

Arne Hjeltnes & me (He's a famous TV personality in Norway too)

Look at all those deserts!!!

Yes, I had some. Er... OK, more than some. OK, OK, I had more than the pic above!

Hahahaha, OK, I must say that those pics I posted above really didn't do justice to the event. It was far grander than what you see above. Imagine a huge ballroom with abt 800 very beautiful people, and abt 75 dishes of seafood presented in the most flattering manner one can ever imagine. Pity, although I'm known to multi-task fairly well, I was just simply too occupied with eating the best foods they had there and then. So too bad, not enough pics to show. But perhaps, if I get invited to next year's event again (I've been invited every year for as long as I can remember!), I'll try very hard to take more pics and still eat at the same time! Hehehehe.....

Busy March, biz trip to KL & a Dinner @ Le Saint Julien

We've just gone past CNY and started March not too long ago. But I realised that I am still as busy as before. Well, I did take a 10 day break immediately after CNY, and really did nothing except laze around, slept a lot, ate a lot, rested a lot and literally did nothing.

But as soon as my short vacation ended, I was whipped back to work and started on a long journey of endless work. Everyday was a different scene. It was very interesting that I could manage so many things at a go. Multi-tasking was the word. Many problems surfaced along the way, but as soon as I managed to get past one hurdle, I felt the satisfaction and the need to surpass the next.

One of my friends had said to me "You disappeared! I thought after CNY you should not be so busy." Well, in theory yes, after CNY I usually have more free time. But I guess, the nature of this industry, just doesn't allow me to predict when I'll be able to relax.

Anyway, I was in KL on Wednesday & Thursday for a short biz trip. Then on Friday, came back to a lot of work, and then Friday evening, had a beautiful dinner at Le Saint Julien, Waterboat House, The Fullerton. French cuisine it was. Beautiful place with fine food. Very expensive!!! It was meant to be a farewell dinner for Pooh Bear & Marta. After dinner, we went for a drink at Post Bar, Fullerton Hotel. Had 2 rounds of drinks and then decided to adjourn to b.one @ Marriot Hotel.

Well, I'll save the details for now. Need to catch some beauty sleep and I'll post pics when Tweetie uploads them. Hehehe....

Dinner @ Sichuan Douhua Chinese Restaurant - UOB Plaza

Company dinner (yes I know, we have a lot of dinners, all the time) on the 20th Feb was at Sichuan Douhua Restaurant @ UOB Plaza. The only thing unique I noticed was that the waiters served tea from a brass tea pot with brass tea pot with ultra long spout.
To be very honest, I wasn't really looking forward to that particular dinner. Perhaps too much eating over the festive period, so fancy restaurants at that point in time didn't really excite me. Novelty lost after having the luxury of almost having seafood 3 meals a day!

No, I'm not complaining. I do enjoy eating very much. Just that, I really need to watch my figure. Sigh, CNY and the load of pineapple tarts, love letters, BBQ pork, Yu Sheng and etc etc etc... Whatever else goodies you can think of during CNY, I had been feeding myself un-sparingly!

But the group dinner was still fun to have, as always. Nice wines to compliment the food. This time, we just stuck to dinner. I didn't go anywhere after that. Simply headed home and slept. Some pics...

Of horses and colourful playground @ Pasir Ris Park

Just wanted a walk to pacify a tantrum-throwing Prince A. So I suggested we swing by Pasir Ris Park. Fairly interesting to see a miniature horse stable there.

Perhaps it's been a long time since I went to this part of the park. But this trip was just very fun. See, horses, and a ponies too.

Pretty White Horse

I'm not sure why, but this pony looks "warped"!

See, there are ponies too. Hmm... Perhaps it was chow-time when I went there. All the horses and ponies were very busy eating.

This is is very cute. The colour combination, makes it look like a cow! Hahahaha.... So cute.

Further down, some 5 mins away from the horses, was the old playground I know. Used to go there ever so often when I was a kid. One of my aunties used to bring me and my brother and a cousin there. And I'd always climb up the pyramid wed and just sit high up on the top of the pyramid and stare out at the sea. The mild sea breeze would always calm my nerves and clear my mind.

However, it's been quite a while since I last came to this part of the park and there had been many many changes. An extension of the playground had been built. More slides for younger kids and lots of new age playground equipment had been installed.

In my kiddie days, the playground meant lots of sand, the slide, the swing, and the see-saw. Now-a-days, everything is super colourful. You'll see things like that...

Interesting now innovation had made life better. Children these days don't know how lucky they are.
