Flat PINK shoes

No particular reason why I took this picture. It was actually Tweetie who enjoyed taking pics of her feet. She says it give the impression of having been there, done that. But I took this picture because I'm seldom in flats. I'm always in heels and stilettos. Super high ones. No, I'm not short, I'm actually fairly tall. But I love wearing heels and standing tall, and towering over people! Hahahaha... So today, whilst in my PINK converse, I thought I should also do a shot like this. But somehow, it looks strange... Hehehehe....

Smiling Donut & Hello Kitty Mints

A smiling donut made my day... I'm a sucker for such things. They are so cute. And the pink one next to the smiling donut was like sooooo PINK! Actually bought them from POP DOH a few days ago. There were so many different types, in all sorts of shapes and colors with different toppings. Had the urge to buy 1 of each type, but that would mean I'll look like a donut myself by the end of the week!

Even the box is PINK!

Another discovery I made... And it's soooooo cute! HELLO KITTY PEACH MINTS! Even the words on the tin box was PINK... These retailers really know how to make my money!

Wonder why PINK attracts my attention... Even the mouse I use is PINK! Hahaha... OK, time to catch some sleep... Good night my friends! And do feel free to send me PINKY stuff!

Need a break desperately...

Had been very tired lately. Mentally tired. So tired that I just can't seem to sleep. And when I do fall asleep, I wake up with aching pains all over. My back muscles would be aching so bad that sometimes, I just have to lie in bed for an extra 10 mins before I can manage to drag myself up. Sigh... I need a holiday desperately. I need a break... Let's see... Paris? Lisbon? Monaco? Prague? Or maybe Hokkaido? Osaka? Seoul? Taipei? Or just Hua Hin? Hanoi? Mapur Island?

~~~~~ Forgot to mention that an all expenses paid holiday to any of the above destinations would be best! So erm.... Any sponsors??? Hehehe... ~~~~~
Happy Mid Autumn! 中秋节快乐!
Today, we'll be celebrating the Mid Autumn Festival (中秋节). It actually falls in the 15th day of the 8th lunar month in the Chinese calendar (农历八月十五). This is when the moon is supposedly at it's fullest (although this year, astronomers say full moon will only occur on the 17th day instead of the 15th day). Most Chinese families will gather together to admire the bright mid autumn moon (赏月), eat mooncakes (月饼) & pomeloes (柚子) and sip Chinese tea. Children will also gather in groups and carry brightly lit and colourful lanterns (提灯笼). In the olden days, people will also gather in the night bazaar and activities like guessing riddles written on lanterns (猜灯谜)。
This year i bought mooncakes from Sheraton Towers Li Bai (李白). Very nice!!! Last week, I was running around delivering mooncakes to my customers. Also bought some for our office. The girls all loved it. Both the snowskin (冰皮) and the traditional ones were very very yummy, so I bought the same for myself. Really very nice. The lotus seed paste was so fragrant...
Very blah looking box (-_-)
Yummy traditionally baked mooncakes
Fragrant snowskin mooncakes
All for the sake of this logo on the top left corner...
Yawn... I'm working and chatting on MSN and blogging at the same time. So now, I gotta go focus and finish up my work, then chat a bit more before I hit the pillow... Yawn... 中秋节快乐...
Uncle Kelvin & Auntie Kym's Wedding
Just came back from my uncle's wedding dinner. Very happy that's he's finally settled down with his pretty wife. Some pics to show...
Handsome? Looks a bit "ang moh" hor?
Uncle Kelvin & Auntie Kym... So sweet... So loving...
Uncle Edmund & Auntie Lucy
It was a cosy wedding dinner. Uncle Kelvin's friends were over the top with the drinks. Hahaha... They were literally drowning him with hard liquor and a lot of red wine! I asked Uncle Kelvin quite a few times if he was OK, and his reply to me was a very big smile and a "NO, NOT OK!" Hahahahahaha! Poor thing....
Alright, I'm getting very sleepy already. I think I have more pics to show but lazy to put them up now... Next time...
The beach... Local favourites...
Singapore was never a country (or island for that matter) known for any beautiful beaches with clear waters. But, as an island country surrounded by Indonesia & Malaysia, it's not difficult to imagine what our waters look like. And to go with that, our beaches are not as pure white and clean as you would find in the Philippines or resort islands like Redang and such. But still, on sunny island Singapore, with the sun deciding to scorch all of us, we still manage to have a fairly nice beach on the east coast.
See, you can even build a nice huge sand castle here!
But of course you'll need special help and maintenance to build this... (-_-)
Char Siew Wanton noodles! YUMMY!!!
Satay... Urghhh... How to resist this??? Gotta eat it!
Personal favourite. Duck rice. Something I find hard to miss...
Well, many of my friends from outside of Singapore have been asking me what they must eat when they visit Singapore. Like they'll eat Sushi & Ramen in Japan, and Kimchi in Korea & erm... Hotdogs in the US (that's what someone actually said to me!) and Tom Yum Gung when in Thailand. So what to eat when in Singapore? My answer... EVERYTHING... in the hawker centre! Hahaha... There are so much to eat. Chicken rice, Friend Kway Teow, Friend Hokkien Prawn Noodles, Bak Kut Teh, Duck Rice, Yong Tau Foo, Mee Siam, Rojak, Popiah etc etc etc... My list will go on till it's time for breakfast!
So guys... (Duke O and company's coming to Singapore in Nov), I'll make sure you guys go home with a tummy that'll threaten to explode from over-eating. Muahahahah... I'm wicked, I know...
Duke O & his harvest of Norwegian King Scallops
Duke O sent me a pic of him and his neat harvest of the famed king scallops. Look at the size of those things! They are very nice to eat. I usually clean them up leaving the roe and meat intact in it's half shell, and then bake them in the oven with cheese, and top off with Japanese mayonnaise before serving... Ooooh.... The thought of it is already making me salivate!
Just look at the scallops, not his eyes...
Say Duke! I'm missing some scallops for dinner tonight. Send me some. About 1 dozen will be sufficient! Takk!
Earthquake... Dora Yaki...
Woke up this morning feeling dizzy. The series of earthquakes and after-shocks in Sumatra had left tremors thru many parts of Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and don't know where else. Sat thru breakfast feeling the entire block of flats swaying... Dizzy... Dizzy... Dizzy... It's not the first time I felt this. Happened many times in the past. But still thoughts about how strong the quake was, and where the epi-centre of the quake was, and also, could the buildings sustain the more and more frequent quakes in the region, ran thru my mind...
But, the day has to go on... Hungry, apparently, my breakfast of Marks & Spencer Extra Strong tea and Kueh Lapis from Batam didn't quite satisfy my hunger this particular morning (maybe the tremors made me very hungry). So I decided to have Doraemon's fav snack... DORAYAKI!!!!!
ドラえもん。。。どら焼
Yes, I know... But I still had to cam-whore a bit before eating the yummy red-bean filled pancake
Bad Mood... Elephant in the sky!
I'm in a bad mood today. I'm really in a terrible mood today. So many things have gone wrong. Can't understand how some people function at all. Grrr.....
Anyway, I saw an elephant in the sky the other day. Really, it's an elephant... In the sky... I'm not kidding! See...
Why was the elephant in the sky? Doesn't it know that it's really heavy? Walking around in the sky like that means putting it's weight on us, isn't it? That equates to putting us under pressure, don't you think so? Maybe that's why I'm under so much stress... Maybe that's why I'm upset... Maybe...
OK, I'm rambling my frustrations... It's got nothing to do with Dumbo up there... I'm just in a bad mood...
Memories of school...
The last time I ever drank tea out of a metal cup was like more than 10 years ago... (probably closer to 20!) In an old school canteen, you can buy iced milk tea or soft drinks from an old uncle and then carry the metal cups or glass coke bottles and sit on wooden picnic tables and chairs out in the open under a huge tree gossiping abt teachers and peers.
So recently, when I visited the very "in" Hong Kong tea cafes, I see drinks served in metal cups again... Brings back many memories of good-old school days. 真的很怀念,很怀念。。。
I have in fact lost touch with almost all my ex-school mates. I miss them all very much. But I do know that Ben is now the boss of a very reputable local multi-media/animation company that produced Singapore's first local 3-D animation movie "LEGEND OF THE SEA". The others, Karen, got married and went to Canada??? Xuewei, married and missing, Chao Fang & Agus, married each other but missing, Shujun, missing as well... And many many many others (some I can't even remember their names) **sigh**
As I stir my cup of 冻奶茶, images of me in my school uniform and laughter with my friends come floating back. Even as I type this now, tears well in my eyes, for I really miss those times. Hope my friends see this and contact me...
Comex 2007... Cupcakes...
This is what I call 吃饱没事做,凑热闹。Of all days, I had to choose a Saturday to visit the hottest exhibition in town that week. But with my impossible work schedules, I really didn't have very much choice. So, I headed down Suntec with hubby, parked at Millenia (see so smart, no need to queue for parking) and walked across to Suntec.
The exhibition was indeed very crowded. The amount of people walking around was enough to make me feel so faint... We knew what we wanted (a new digital cam) so we headed to check out what Sony had to offer. They were on the 3rd floor concourse and also had a little stage with DJs from Yes933FM onstage promoting their laptops. Can't afford, so I squeezed past that and headed straight for the digi-cam corner. After much struggle, we managed to go near the stand, but not near enough to have a good look at what we wanted. I did lay my hands on a basic model cam (which was PINK) and cost about S$448 i think, but too basic with nothing interesting on the features. I don't even remember which model!
Hubby said he had read in the papers that Nikon was offering something interesting, so we made our way upstairs to have a look. The main hall was also very crowded, but there was more space to move around. We checked out the very crowded Nikon booth.
See the crowd... We had to queue for more than half an hour just to pay!
Anyway, we landed ourselves with a new Nikon S200. Not fantastic, but good enough for our mediocre photography skills...
Up next, yesterday, someone bought super cute and yummy-licious chocolate cupcakes. These were so damn rich, I swear that when I ate one earlier, I could feel I instantly put 2 cm on my waist! No kidding... They really taste very rich, but melts in your mouth. very good. I wonder where to buy them...
Look at those choc bits on the cupcakes... Melts in your mouth! Drool.....
Fever...
Sigh...
Caramel Syrup Waffles!!!
Can die! These things are soooooooooo sinful but yet can't afford to avoid. Every time someone goes to or passes thru Netherlands, they are sure to come back with these...
See this little harmless and colorful box?
This innocent looking waffle... (pardon the little bite off... I was just too greedy)
Check out the caramel inside!!!
1 piece of this will send your 1 month gym sessions down the biggest drain in Singapore! No joke, it's really very nice. So.... guys, if you're coming down from Amsterdam, bring these! Muahahaha.... Erm... Boss, I need a new gym membership!
